Curbside Recycling

City of Geneva Recycling Program-The City of Geneva and Waste Management offers a recycling service to the residents of the City of Geneva. As a subscribing resident of the City of Geneva, Waste Management has curbside recycling collection at no additional cost to you. The recycling carts are delivered by Waste Management. Recycling service collection will occur every other week.

Waste Management will provide a brochure with a map attached to the inside of the cart detailing the recycling pick up schedule.  The brochure with the map can be viewed here: Waste Management Brochure . Match your section of the City on the map to determine your collection schedule.  All services will be collected on Wednesdays and waste collection will still remain on a weekly schedule. Please observe the following guidelines to keep your collection running smoothly:

  • Do not bag your recyclables
  • Place your cart within three feet of the curb in front of your residence the night before your scheduled collection day with the lid opening facing the street.
  • Put your recycling cart on the other side of your drive way of your trash cart.

What’s Recyclable in this program:

  • All Glass Bottles (clear or colored)
  • All Plastics #1-#7
  • Aluminum and Tin cans

Recycle Often. Recycle Right.
It’s time to get back to the basics of good recycling.
The fact is that some recycling actions make a bigger impact than others. So please remember the essentials:

  • Recycle all bottles, cans and paper.
  • Keep items clean and dry.
  • No plastic bags in the recycling.

And that’s it. Follow these simple guidelines, and manufacturers will soon get the materials they need to make new products and you’ll soon see how recycling the right materials really does make a big difference.
